Our Vision
Global Rights Defenders registered as a Non-Profit in November 2022. We have worked extremely hard to identity areas for intervention. As it stands, we are a project-based entity that focuses on research and advocacy to assist vulnerable communities to achieve self-reliance. As we continue to grow and develop, GRD envisions itself as becoming a hub for vulnerable communities.
Idea # 1 - To be a Hub
Nobody knows the issues on the ground better than those with lived experiences. Global Rights Defenders intends to become a hub for refugees, where Refugee-led Organisations (RLOs) can gain funds for their important projects through our sponsorship. GRD wants to financially support the causes RLOs are working towards, to have long-lasting impact in displaced communities. This is part of GRD's commitment to be part of the new wave of humanitarianism, where we let those on the ground guide our programming.
Idea # 2 - Strategize for Meaningful Impact
Global Rights Defenders will use our expertise to strategize with Refugee-led Organisations (RLOs) to choose, design and implement projects to optimize its impacts. Whether it is potential partners who are new to the space and want to work with GRD, or returning partners who have pertinent projects in mind, GRD will serve as a sounding board and use its expertise in research and strategic planning to assist RLO partners in their processes.
GRD will also be able to use its expertise in research and analysis, and survey issues that affect broader populations. This will ensure project selection, design, and implementation will have the greatest impact.
