GRD's Strategy:
Advocate, Empower and Support Refugees to Achieve Self-reliance
Global Rights Defenders focuses on four areas to achieve self-reliance:
Research, Advocacy, Community Engagement, and Capacity Strengthening.
GRD is committed to reducing poverty, improving economic and gender equity, and advocating for meaningful policy changes to achieve refugee self-reliance.
Our Strategy
1
Research
For Global Rights Defenders to do our work responsibly, we take research very seriously. Research informs all of our programming and advocacy campaigns to ensure that we tackle issues responsibly. It is our job to learn about the issues on the ground, so that we may target issues which affect vulnerable populations and help create meaningful impact.
2
Advocacy
Global Rights Defenders believes in evidence-based advocacy. From our preliminary research, we craft specific and targeted advocacy campaigns to tackle pertinent issues.
3
Community Engagement
At Global Rights Defenders, we believe in raising the voices of the communities we work with. We believe in working alongside affected communities to shed light on issues which impact their everyday lives.
4
Capacity Strenghtening
At Global Rights Defenders, we invest in the people we work with. We hire people on the ground to assist us in our programming. This includes displaced and vulnerable communities to strengthen their capacities and empower their communities. This is part of our strategy to help them gain meaningful employment and prepare them for future professional opportunities.
